[So, funny story. Earlier this morning, Riku had slipped out to grab a bite to eat only, as he waltzed right out the door, he had a sudden and spontaneous departure... only to return about a second later. But before that could so much as sink in? He'd been dragged off quite mysteriously by a couple of droids.

And if that's not weird enough, those by All Passions may notice something falling down from the sky!

...and right into the building...

And right into a pile of clothes! THUD.

For a few seconds, Riku just sorta lies there before his journal lands flat on his face, and a colorful bat soon follows. At least the impromptu landing in the clothes kind of cushioned his fall.

So, yes. Behold the shirtless boy in New Feather pants lying in the middle of the store, folks. He may need a little assistance. Once he's gotten reoriented, however, he'll be storming out of the shop, scooping up his belongings and, with a sigh, addressing the journals some time after that.]

Just when you think this place can't get any weirder, it throws another curve ball. I'd say something about how it's great to be back, but it looks like I haven't even been gone for more than a few hours. And here I thought a few days was bad...

[He pauses, rubbing the back of his neck.]

Has that even happened before? I know time here works differently, but a whole year went by on my end.

[Then again, that year's worth of memories is still a little bit disorienting right now. Blame the quick return, the quick Mallynap, and the three years of Luceti memories, which still ring loud and clear.]

[ooc: Okay, so a few quick things. First, like I mentioned in his OOC intro, his age has been fixed, so he's still in his late teens and not 16. Second, please comment here so I know how much to spoil/not spoil for KH3D.]

Riku, you kind of did more than just crash into the pile there, because your sudden landing had this bowlcut--who was looking for new threads, and didn't want to bother with the item shop--stumbling over and nearly falling into it himself. ...Okay, not nearly, completely into it. What in hell just happened? Who decided to send this guy hurtling into the store?]

[And once Souji collapses, the little bat springs into the air and starts chittering. Riku, after brushing the journal off of his face, pushes himself up into a sitting position and...

Okay, this is awkward.]

... Sorry about that.

[Needless to say, he was not expecting to make such a surprise appearance like that. Guh, and now his back's even more sore than it was earlier. Great.]

[Ow ow ow, his face, his neck, his spleen... ...Okay, not so much on the spleen. He'll slowly push his way out of the pile in a sec or two, before peering over at the other gray-haired kid.] It's fine. [...He regards the other for a sec, while he rubs his slightly sore head. Good thing it wasn't the floor he hit...] ...Are you hurt?

Trust me, I've been through worse.

[He laughs and, after a moment, gets back on his feet.]

Heck, I'd say that fall was pretty tame compared to getting knocked around by a giant squid Nightmare.

[Because, seriously. Brawlamari was both obnoxious and painful.]

If you're sure you don't need the hand. [Dusting himself off, now...

And then that gets a tilted head for a sec. What-? What even...? He's not even sure if he ever saw a Shadow that fit the description. No, it's probably not the best of ideas to think of that...] "Giant squid Nightmare"?

Basically, picture a giant squid that shoots lasers and hits hard.

[A beat.]

Add in the fact that it feeds on dreams, and you get a Nightmare.

[Hopefully that explains it well enough, anyway.]

...That sounds fun.

[Only not, because...well, yeah, this isn't as weird as it gets, and he knows something that's similar.]

If by fun you mean exhausting. Not that that's anything new for me, either.

[He shrugs.]

I'd say it comes with the territory. Saving worlds means you're bound to come face-to-face with a tough crowd sooner or later.

[Excuse him for a moment while he just...glances at you, Riku. 'Worlds'? Dare he ask what you mean by that? ...On second thought, maybe it'd be better if he asked when he wasn't looking like a New Feather right now, or something.]

I can imagine. [...Oh, look, all the awkwardness of this guy crashing into the floor just went away the moment he notices his 'attire'.] Are you new here?

[...He laughs.]

Hardly. I've been here for more than three years now.

[Even if he technically went back home for a year, except... it hasn't been a year here. He doesn't think so, anyway.]

[...Well, that's unpleasant. And god knows what happened during that time...] ...It's probably a good thing that time stays still while we're stuck, then.

[Stuck in a quaint little village where getting messed with was the norm...which just sucks overall.]

Honestly? I wasn't in any hurry to go home. And, now that I'm back...

[He shakes his head.]

I hope it stays that way.

[Maybe he doesn't regret the things he went through, but darn it. He doesn't want to leave behind the people he cares about. Ino...]

[Wow rude Riku. Shiki was just minding her own business in her shop doing all the Shiki-things when she suddenly flails at the sight and sound of Riku landing through her roof and on her pile of things to be folded.]

Hey! What the heck are you doing?!

Shiki?

[...Oh god. That's... that's right.

All Passions. Shiki runs this place, doesn't she? Only, now he actually recognizes her from Traverse Town.

Welp, this is awkward. Just give Riku a second, and he'll get up from the clothes heap.]

Look, I didn't mean-- [No, wait. Probably too defensive.]

Just... thank the Malnosso?

[Guh. Awkward. So much awkward. Especially since he fell through the roof!]

Why is it always my shop? Seriously. [But she suddenly seems to clue in that a boy just fell from the sky. Fell. From. The. Sky.]

...omigosh, are you okay? How did you even break through?

[ ... wait, what? ]

Riku? You -- you went home and came back?! That was fast...

[ Not sure how to feel. She's glad, though. That he's still here. ]

... how do you feel?

Trust me, it's no joke. This has to be the shortest departure I've ever heard of in this place.

But, hey. Glad to see you're still hanging around.

[Because the alternative is him ~sleeping in sorrow~, which isn't very pleasant at all. Roxas deserves better.]

[He shrugs, rubbing the back of his neck.]

Sore, but considering I just crashed through a roof... It could be a whole lot worse. And as for how-- I don't even want to think about it.

Yeah, I'm getting mixed feelings about that, honestly. It was definitely fast, but... man, just try juggling a year's worth of new memories when it's been less than a day.

[Not that he's complaining. Now that he's actually been through it all...]

Anyway, I'm all right, Xion. A whole lot's happened since I left, but at least I'm not behind on the times now.

[And, really, he's just glad that his memories are all in tact. Especially in her case.]

... I'm glad you came back.

[ Gently. I'm glad you remember who I am. ]

So it's been a year for you? So... does that mean you're ahead of me, now?

Actually, I think I'm ahead of everybody now.

[He laughs.]

It's kind of ironic.

[ There's a beat of silence.

That means he's from after her death... after Axel's death, after Roxas returns to Sora... after so many things.

She almost wants to ask him what it's like. What happens. But she doesn't. Instead she smiles a little, sad and sideways. ]

I know. Considering the way things began...

Seriously. And it only took me, what? Three years to catch up?

[He's not totally sure what to think about it. Just... hah, earlier today, he'd been in the mindset that he didn't want to return to his future. And now, he has.

He's been through it all, really. The good and bad.]

There's... a lot I have to tell you guys, but I guess we should take this one step at a time.

I hope it's nothing bad.

[ She tries some gentle humor, but her uncertainty comes through, too, in the quiet of her voice. She's not scared of the future... not really. How could she be? She'll never live to see it, as far as she knows. But there's still something... strange about it. Unsettling. There's always potential for things to go wrong. ]
