I doubt the Malnosso have anything to do with it. Not when they claim to be stuck here themselves. ...Then again, it's not like they're the most trustworthy to begin with.

Still, I'd say it has to do with this world. And I still think having only one version of anybody in the multiverse is pretty unlikely.
