[There's a brief pause before Riku speaks into the journal. He's been a bit restless as of late, and with the Replica around and his short encounter with Aku, well...]

Anyone up for a round? Haven't had much practice lately, so I could use a sparring partner. I use a sword, but I won't be too picky about weapons.

Archers are way better at catching their foes by surprise.

... Okay, you've got a point. Still, a sword can deal plenty of damage.

So can arrows, if you're a good marksman.

Yeah, but you can't block with arrows, either, and sometimes you might have to get close. What then?

If you're in a pinch, you can block with your bow, but it's not the best strategy. I've heard of archers who carry daggers just in case they get too close in a fight.

And if the bow split in two?

Let me guess, you think daggers are better, too.

If the bow splits, you better be a fast runner. [ She laughs. ] Daggers are handy, but I don't use one that often.

Well, it probably would be weird sparring against an archer. I'll give you that.

Yeah, it probably wouldn't be fair for me to use you for target practice.

Target practice? Now that's just pushing it.

[ Oh such a long-suffering sigh. ] Swordsmen are such poor sports.

Then again, if you wanted to use me as a target, I guess I'd just have to block those arrows of yours.
