[Well, there's no point in dodging this now. Especially after that entry Ling made. Despite his reservations, Riku opens the journal and begins with a short, sweet message.]

Kairi's gone.

[There's a drawn out pause. After all, Kairi'd been there since he first showed up in Luceti, and she'd always been with him and Sora before. And Sora hasn't even shown himself in months. Xion moved. Besides Roxas, everyone else from their universe is off living with Ven.

Sigh.]

It's kind of crazy. People come and go all the time, but Kairi was here longer than me. At least three years. Just goes to show how unpredictable this place is. Some people leave in a week. Others years. Some people come back again and again. It's like a constant guessing game.

[...Man, maybe he's thinking too hard on it. Either way, he needs a distraction. Badly. Much as Kairi's departure's upset him, he doesn't wanna make it too obvious. What good would that do?]

But enough about that. No point in crying over spilled milk, right? At least she's not wrapped up in the experiments. That last one was bad enough, and don't even get me started on that 'Count' guy. If he ever met Mickey, I bet he'd rethink his insults a little.

Oh, you can't miss him. Spiky hair, ridiculous shoes... Makes friends with everyone he meets.

[It's an exaggeration, but hey. That's how Sora rolls.]

[She giggles.]

They're huge, yellow, and round. Makes him look kind of like a clown.

[He snickers.]

His pants are pretty dorky, too.

Good to know you didn't adapt to his fashion sense, though.

[Because she'll have a hard time giving him a make over.]

Tell you what.

[He places his hands on his hips and grins smugly.]

You ever catch me in bright red balloon shorts and yellow shoes, and you have permission to drag me kicking and screaming to the clothes store.

But I doubt that'll ever happen.

[Besides, he's just poking fun at his friend. No ill feelings towards good ol' Sora.]

Good to know.

[She snuggles even closer to him and when she's close enough, she leans in where her face is just inches away from his.]

Have a little reward? [For being strong despite everything, not just for keeping your fashion sense. Cupping his cheek gently, Ino leans in for a kiss. Besides wanting to be there for him, she also wants to make him feel good.]

[And, just like that, it's as if his worries have melted away. You can bet he returns the kiss on the double, brushing a hand against her cheek.]

[Ino deepens the kiss further, spilling words and affections that were left unsaid. After all, actions speak louder than words, right? A kiss is supposed to tell words of assurance, of affection, of "I'll be here no matter what".

Besides, flowers aren't the only ones who have a hidden language.]

[The message gets across loud and clear, even without words, and Riku pours just as much love into it. He wants her to know how important she is to him, especially at times like these. Thus, he pulls her a little bit closer. His hands wander, running gently down her back.

It's a good thing there's nobody else in the room right now, or it might be a little bit awkward.]

[Yeah, good thing!

Ino feels the words rather than hear them, which is probably the most important for her. If only through this, she can show him just how much she loves him and just how much she wanted to make this okay. Leaving is never easy especially when it's someone you care about.

Scooting closer, she lets herself cling to him even more. She wants him to feel how much this contact means to her.

Ino only stops to get some air and whisper something along the lines of--]

I'm not going anywhere.

I know.

[And he doesn't mind the clinging one bit. In fact, he'll go ahead and rest his head on top of hers, giving her a light squeeze.]

And I really do appreciate it, Ino. Especially now.

[Just having her around eases the tension. Especially since it's just him and Roxas now.]

[And she fits really well in his arms, too.]

I'm glad. I know I can't replace them - and I don't intend to in the slightest - but I'm happy I can at least ease the pain.

I wouldn't want you to replace them, anyway. I love you for who you are. No need to fill somebody else's place.

[He wouldn't want his friends to replace anybody else, either. They're all important in their own way.]

[She pouts, feeling weird butterfly things in her stomach having heard that from Riku.] Now you're just making me blush.
