[So, funny story. Earlier this morning, Riku had slipped out to grab a bite to eat only, as he waltzed right out the door, he had a sudden and spontaneous departure... only to return about a second later. But before that could so much as sink in? He'd been dragged off quite mysteriously by a couple of droids.

And if that's not weird enough, those by All Passions may notice something falling down from the sky!

...and right into the building...

And right into a pile of clothes! THUD.

For a few seconds, Riku just sorta lies there before his journal lands flat on his face, and a colorful bat soon follows. At least the impromptu landing in the clothes kind of cushioned his fall.

So, yes. Behold the shirtless boy in New Feather pants lying in the middle of the store, folks. He may need a little assistance. Once he's gotten reoriented, however, he'll be storming out of the shop, scooping up his belongings and, with a sigh, addressing the journals some time after that.]

Just when you think this place can't get any weirder, it throws another curve ball. I'd say something about how it's great to be back, but it looks like I haven't even been gone for more than a few hours. And here I thought a few days was bad...

[He pauses, rubbing the back of his neck.]

Has that even happened before? I know time here works differently, but a whole year went by on my end.

[Then again, that year's worth of memories is still a little bit disorienting right now. Blame the quick return, the quick Mallynap, and the three years of Luceti memories, which still ring loud and clear.]

Weeell I know past-me was running around here a year ago or something like that, then I popped back up and was told all about it! But I don't think I've ever popped off somewhere and then popped back with a whole years worth of stuff in my head.

And that's just it. Usually when people leave, they either come back without memories, or they're gone for at least a few days.

Ever heard of a guy that disappeared for a super long time but they end up coming back with all thoughts and thinky stuff intact?

I think I'll just take that as a compliment.

Anyway, I've seen a few cases like that. Heck, sometimes a person will disappear, come back without memories, disappear again, and come back with memories from a previous visit.

[That's probably for the best.]

Wowzers, sounds like it's completely random if you come back with all your memories or not. Maybe when I pop off again I'll come back but remember all sorts of cool stuff about past-me that now-me has no idea about!

That's because it is random. This place is completely unpredictable. Sometimes people will show up with their memories, no memories, memories from another visit, or from a completely different time. It's all up in the air.

Too bad there isn't some way to just zap all the missing memories back into a person, huh? I would seriously love to know all the people past-me met, just so I could meet them all over again.

You could always make an entry about it. Ask people over the journals if you've met them before and see where that gets you.

You know, that doesn't sound like too bad of an idea. 'Hey, I'm Pascal, you might remember me from who-knows how long ago! If you do, let's be friends again! Yay!' How's that sound?

Sounds about right to me. And besides, you'll never know until you try.

Right on! I mean, I could not try and just wait for all the friendlies to come back and find me, buuut that's not so good as me going to them. You gotta show initiative!
