Heh. The end of the year. Time sure flies, huh? This marks the third winter I've spent holed up in this place. Now, I could get all nostalgic about how things changed, but frankly? I'm sure you guys are tired of that by now.

There's... something else on my mind, though. Something I've thought about for a while, about the way this place works.

[He pauses for a few seconds, mulling over how to properly phrase this...]

Anyway, I'm sure most of you guys are familiar with the way people vanish out of the blue just like I'm sure you're used to people showing up without a single memory of their time before. Assuming they'd been here, anyway. But sometimes people come back with memories fully intact or those memories return after a quick reminder. I've even seen a few cases of somebody coming back as a blank slate and showing up again later with memories from a visit before the last.

Maybe I'm over thinking it, but have you guys ever thought that maybe the people who show up without memories might be different versions of someone rather than the same person with those memories wiped out? Now, I'm not saying people actually remember this place back home; I've gone back twice and I sure didn't. And, sure, timelines probably factor into it, but who's to say there can't be, say... twin versions of the same world?

Just some food for thought, I guess.

[Okay, and with that silliness out of the way, Riku can be seen in a few different places. First, there's the Community Housing 1 building, where he can be found feeding a big ol' chocolate cake and some colorful ice cream to his Dream Eater. Upon eating the goods, his bat sparkles and glows. Feel free to boggle at this.

Outside, he can be found strolling along in the snow for a bit. Aftr a while, however, he gives into some silly urges. What kind of silly urges, you ask? Snowballs, of course. He won't be outright malicious, but if he sees any familiar faces he miiight just toss a little snow their way. After all, it's been far too long since he's done something silly like that.

Otherwise, he can be seen practicing some magic out by the forest. And by magic I of course mean summoning gigantic, colorful balloons that explode. What's all that about?]

[Ino's currently chilling in her room right now, dressed in clothes that will keep her warm. Of course, they're purple in color.]

That'd be really sad, won't it? I don't want a twin version of anyone close to me to return or something.

[A beat.] Where are you, by the way?

Yeah, it does have some pretty harsh implications. Assuming it's true, anyway. For all I know, I could be way off the mark.

[He shrugs, getting up from his bed.]

Anyway, I'm just hanging in my room. Want me to go over there?

[He can't really object to more time with her, after all.]

This is the first time I wish you're wrong.

[She blinks at his answer to her question, suddenly realizing she didn't peek at his room after dressing. Her reaction changes at his question, though.]

Yeah, sure. I think it's the time of the year where I need more hugs. [Brrr. It's cold.]

And I can't blame you for that.

[And, heh. He'll go ahead and slip on over to her room riiight about now.]

So, you said something about hugs...

[Well, guess what? He's gonna be sliding on up to her and pulling her into his arms. Better?]

[Much better. B)]

I did. [She rests her head on his chest, pulling him closer by wrapping her own arms around him.] And I think you heard me perfectly well.

Well, I guess there's one perk to all this cold.

[Gives him a perfectly good excuse to hold her close. Oh, and here, have a kiss on the forehead.]

Maybe I can grab us a hot drink later. There has to be something in the shops.

[Like cocoa. That usually gets the job done.]

[After that kiss, Ino feels completely cozy now.]

I'd like that. We can go shop for some later. [A brief pause as she looks up at him from where she's currently curled up.] Though you told me you're not used to the cold, right? [Growing up in an island and all.]

Right. It's not so bad now, since I've been here a few years, but I'd be lying if I said the cold didn't get to me sometimes.

[He rather likes being able to wear short sleeves. Kinda hard to do that in winter.]

[She giggles, leaning up to press a quick kiss on his lips.]

It doesn't get this cold in our village either. We don't live in the Fire Country for nothing.

[...Spoiling him rotten, eh?

Not that he's complaining. The kiss gets a soft chuckle out of Riku. He'll pay her back later. Probably when she's not expecting it, heh.]

Well, with a name like the Fire Country, I can see why.

[A beat.]

But if it gets too cold, we could always scrounge up some blankets for good measure.

[He's definitely got plenty to spare in his room.]

[Oh, planning to one her up, huh? Hoho. Ino should be vigilant, then.

Riku's suggestion brings out a warm smile from her despite the cold.]

Great idea! I can fall asleep like that no problem.

Looking for a nap, huh?

[Hmm.]

And would you want company for that?

[Snerk. Not that he's opposed to cuddling up to her or something.]

Later after we have some hot drinks.

[Riku didn't even need to ask because Ino would probably drag him to bed with her to snuggle. There's a brief pause as she thought of something, though.]

You know, if this is one of the perks of all this snow, there's one down side to it too.

[Or you shirtless in general.]

[...Oh, he should've known. Pardon him if he snickers a bit before leaning close.]

If it means that much to you, I could always work my way around that.

[Is he serious? It's hard to say. But, if nothing else, they could just make a huge blanket pile or something silly like that.]

At the risk of you turning into a popsicle? I think I'll pass.

[Inasmuch as she's a fan of your hot bod, boyfriend, she's not going to let you go topless in this weather okay.]

Glad I've got you looking out for me.

[Heh. Besides, they can still snuggle even if he does have to cover himself up.]

But once this place heats up again, I'll make it up to you.

[She leans in closer.]

Don't worry, I'll return the favor.

[A sly wink before she closes the gap between their lips. Oh Riku, don't you want to see Ino in her bikini again?]

[...Darn it. There goes his plan to one-up her. For a moment he freezes, his thought processes screeching to a halt. Before long, though, he leans right back into the kiss, while he tightens his hold on her.

And yes, he wouldn't object to seeing that bikini again... or another experience like their last beach trip, really.]

[Hoho, one summer day, Riku. One summer day.

Ino pulls away after the kiss, looking up at him with a small smile.]

Anyway, what's with the question earlier?

[He shrugs, leaning back a bit.]

Just a random thought that crossed my mind. That, and I didn't have much else to do.

[Leave a Riku to boredom and crazy thoughts come to him. Or something.]

[She snorts.]

You shouldn't be left bored, then. Weird thoughts enter your mind, thoughts that you shouldn't entertain on a daily basis.

Hey, that's why I've got you to keep me in line.

[Because otherwise he'll ask silly questions over the journal to pass the time. Eeeyup.]
