"Dawn." How is that supposed to get me a Keyblade? Sora's got one thanks to the light, that I don't get because of the darkness.

It doesn't make any sense, but I'm fed up with this. I'm tired of staying on the sidelines.

Alright, Kairi, it's been almost than a week now. I'd say that's more than enough rest.

So, anyone up to sparring? Next time an attack like this happens I want to be ready. Besides, I'm sure I'm not the only one who could use practice.

Hey, it rolls and it holds stuff. [He's not gonna argue. He's tied the fishing poles together, though, and tosses them at Riku.] I'll push, you pull.

It'll get the job done.

[ope, he catches.]

But are we going to be able to fit everything in it?

We don't have that much stuff. [And most of it's already on there. The rest they can just pile on top, he'll make sure it doesn't all spill off.]

[he shrugs]

Want me to put the food in there, or should we carry it separate?

Either works. But come on, let's get going! [Yes, clearly Sora is excited.]

Sounds like someone's in a hurry.

[he'll go ahead and put the food in, just for the sake of convenience. And then...pulling times~]

[Yaaaaay, out to the laaaaake.]

[While this does have some overtones for him of checking up on Riku to make sure he's okay, Sora honestly just wants to spend some time with his best friend.]

[Riku just wants something to keep his mind off of more pressing matters, like the Keyblade... Besides, he hasn't had much alone time with Sora.

But once they're there he'll start unpacking stuff.]

[And Sora will as well, though he fails at getting the tent put together - he gives it an honest shot, then just has to admit defeat.]

I still can't do this. Want me to go get firewood?

[Psh. He shakes his head and walks up to the tent stuff.]

I'll take care of the tent if you grab some wood. Deal?

[He'll unload the sleeping bags for Riku, then trot off to find them branches and tinder.]

[Alrighty. Meanwhile, Riku's going to get that tent ready, and unlike Sora he actually knows what he's doing.]

[Well he's a wonderkid, not a superkid. Eventually he comes back with a pile of wood stacked in his arms - he can't quite see, but he's maneuvering carefully.]

Okay, ready to make hot dogs?

About time you came back.

[See the pretty tent? Well anyway, he walks up to Sora.]

Yeah, I'm ready.

[THUDCRASHCLATTERCRACK]

[That would be Sora just dropping all the wood in one big pile. It'll make it easier to keep track of! He did find two stick perfect for cooking hot dogs, and he fishes them out of the pile before moving to the beach and starting to scoop out a wide, shallow bowl in the sand for a fire pit.]

It's good to get away from the buildings, sometimes.

I agree, especially after all that rest.

[Oh Sora. Riku looks amused. at least]

Want me to bring the wood over there?

Just a sec. [he didn't drop it that far away, Riku. Only about four or five feet, really - he doesn't want the stack to catch fire while they're not paying attention, after all.]

I can't believe Kairi made you rest that long. You were fine! Pretty much.

Yeah, but this is Kairi we're talking about. Sometimes she worries a little too much.

[Fine with him, either way. He'll just stay put.]

[And Sora starts building a fire, breaking pieces of wood over his knee.]

She can, I guess. She just doesn't wanna lose us again.

The only way that'd happen is if we wind up leaving.

[tsk, he rolls his eyes]

Whatever winds up happening back home doesn't matter until then.

She says she's lost us here, too - I mean, you guys keep having to remind me of stuff we've already done here. She doesn't need to go through any of that again.

[He's built sort of a wood pyramid over a pile of leaves and pine needles and small twigs and whatnot for tinder; finally pulls a box of matches out of his pocket and tries to light the whole mess. Takes two matches to do so.]

I was here for her the last time you left, so I know that much. It's been almost four months, though, and I'm still here.

[Better than rubbing sticks together, at least! Riku's still waiting for the all clear, though.]

Yeah, she just wants to make sure you stay here.

[Riku gets a grin at about the same time as the tinder starts going up in smoke, and Sora sits back on his heels.] Okay! Let's just give it a second to catch.

I don't plan on leaving any time soon. Not when I know what'll happen when I do leave.

[Darkness, do not want. Anyway, he'll head on over once it's caught and whatnot.]

[orz, Riku. Stop making references to the inevitable Facts of Their Lives that only lead to you getting annoyed and them worrying about driving you away.]
