[Riku hasn't been at home much at all recently. In fact, after the experiment he essentially stayed far away from his friends in order to get some space. And to think, of course.

Now? He's essentially done with his brief venture. Between what happened to Sora and Xion going missing, Riku's been sticking closer to home. Right now, however, he's out and about, searching for Xion. There's something they both need to talk about... that is, if he can find her.

Anyone is free to interrupt him, however, as he searches the village and the forest. She has to be somewhere...]

[ oh hai boyfri-- I MEAN. riku. poppet's out and about in town, making a run to the grocery store for something. riku will probably notice her before she notices him, because she's got her eyes on a little list in her hand. ]

[Okay. That's it.

Riku is going to... slowly walk over to her.]

Xion.

[ OH GOD. she actually drops her list in shock, whirling around to look at him. she immediately goes a bit pink in the face, but looks worried, too. ]

... Riku.

[He tenses briefly. This is bound to be an awkward meeting, but it had to happen sooner or later.]

Hey.

[ yes. yes it is. slowly she kneels down to pick up her list, which she slips into her pocket as she stands up straight again. she doesn't quite ... look at him, either. ]

.... I'm sorry for disappearing like that.

[He shakes his head, frowning faintly.]

No, don't be. You're not the only one who did.

Still... [ rubs a hand up her arm, looking away ] I ... kind of have a history with that. I shouldn't have left. I made people worry...

[ pause. that's not the real point here, is it? she goes a bit more red in the face as she thinks about the last time she saw him, trying to force herself to bring it up, but somehow she can't find the words. ] ......

Hey, I'm sure I did, too. Don't sweat it, okay?

[He'd... do something to reassure her, but right now he's not sure if it's the best idea. It's actually kind of funny, because he's got something on his mind as well. After having well over a week to think things through...]

... Anyway, I think there's something we need to talk about.

[ aaaaa. she just nods, well and truly blushing, now. but she still says nothing. you're going to have to lead the way on this, Riku. poppet's a bit too shy and a bit too frightened to speak her mind. ]

[He's a bit unsure of it himself, but it's better to get it over with.]

So... You're okay, right? After that experiment...

[After what they did. Sure, it was just... hugs and kisses, but this is Xion. She didn't even know much about that stuff before.]

... [ nods, slowly. ] I'm ... I'm alright. It ... made me happy.

Yeah...

[Good. That at least helps with some of the wariness he's had about it. But there's still something they need to get out of the way.]

How do you feel, now that it's over?

[ s-so straightforward. she actually takes a step back, her fingers curling tightly over her chest. if Riku recalls, this is similar, in a lot of ways, to the way she reacted to him in the library when that experiment began. she's shy and blushing and not really looking at him. ]

I... um...

[He notices it alright. That blushing, her nervousness... All signs point to one thing. He just wants some confirmation here.]

Take your time. It's fine.

[ OH GOD DO I HAVE TO. she's silent for a loooong moment, fidgeting nervously. finally, she hesitatingly reaches out and takes his hand. totally not looking at him. tooooootally blushing. ]

[Well that's familiar. Riku... doesn't really do anything at first. A part of him figured this'd happen, and it's not a bad thing. Just--]

... Don't worry about it.

[ ... not the reaction she was expecting. it sounds like a rejection to her -- "don't worry, nothing will change, even if you have feelings for me..."

she drops his hand like she's been burned, backing away a few steps, shamefaced. ] I... I'm sorry, I thought that ... maybe you wouldn't...

[--Wait, no! That's not...

Bad move. Riku shakes his head, stepping right back up to her.]

That's not what I meant.

... what did you mean?

[Another pause. That's... a good question.

He'd thought about it, too. Even if it was pretty abrupt, that experiment was actually kind of nice. It kept his mind off of things such as Sora and Kairi, particularly his jealousy. They were close already, anyway. So...

Sighing, Riku looks away from her. It really shouldn't be this difficult.]

I meant that it's okay. I don't mind.

[And...]

That really how you feel about this?

...... [ nods. ]

In that case...

[Dun dun duuuuun...]

I guess we could give it a shot.

[ Riku, you fail at phrasing this in a way that inspires her with confidence. she still looks unsure. ]

Do ... are you sure you really want to...?

[Riku's not the most sentimental guy, okay. He's not under the influence of an experiment, either, so it's a bit more awkward.

He nods, though.]

I'm sure, Xion. I've had plenty of time to think things through.

[ blushing again. Riku, you can has sudden hug before she loses her nerve again. ]

[Xion, why so adorable? Fine then. He'll hug her right back. It'd be silly of him not to.]

[ oh god he's hugging her oh god yay. ;~; so much yay. finally Xion relaxes, sighing a little as she settles into his arms. she missed this feeling. ]

I'm ... really glad.

[It's niiiice. He doesn't have that same mindset now as he did then, but give him some time. He'll readjust.]

Good. That's what I was going for.

[...snerk.]

[ well, that's alright. it's not the same for her, either. as long as it's not one-sided on her end, she's pretty happy.

... but why are you snerking at me. she looks up at him, wrinkling her nose. ]

What?

[Then it's Xion's lucky day! It's not one-sided. Riku's just... Riku. And, again, adjusting.

In any case, he continues to smirk.]

Heh. It's nothing.

... [ makes a face, but doesn't say anything further, just sort of chilling out in his arms. it's nice, to feel happy like this ... but she knows it won't last, either. on that thought, her arms may tighten around him just a little bit. ]

[Which is fine. He's staying right where he is and will go ahead and tighten his grip a bit?]

You okay, Xion?

... I'm fine ... just thinking, I guess.

[ she pulls out of his arms, frowning thoughtfully ]

I told Roxas, you know. About the Keyblade.

You did?

[He pauses, thinking about this for a second.]

I'm proud of you, Xion. Sooner or later he had to find out.

[ pauses, a little surprised. despite what she says, she's clearly a little bit touched by the praise ]

There's nothing to really be proud of, though... I mean, I was going to have to tell him eventually.

But you got it out of the way instead of waiting until you have no choice.

[Point is, she was honest about it.]

... [ takes his hand, smiling a tiny bit, eyebrows knit. whatever happens, she's happy she has him to lean on, at least. ]

I'm still ... not too sure what to do, though. Roxas said he would find a way out of this, but... [ shakes her head. ] I don't know.

[He's here for her whenever she needs that extra support, too. And, here, he'll give that hand a squeeze. It's okay...]

We'll just have to take this one step at a time. Right now we don't even know what's going to happen. Not for sure, anyway.

... I know. But I've been through all of this before, even if Roxas doesn't remember it. [ looks down, her grip tightening. ] ... I just really hope there's another way.

We'll figure something out. There's no way I'm going to let anything happen to you or Sora.

... [ just smiles a little sadly and intertwines her fingers with his. ]

You and Roxas might have to work together... somehow, I can't imagine that going too well. [ a weak laugh ]

[Aw, Xion. Here, have a hand-squeeze.]

You've got that right. I could probably handle it, but Roxas still thinks I'm some kind of jerk.

[ gives a very small laugh, moving a bit closer so she can lean against him slightly ]

He'll get over it eventually, if I have anything to say about it. You're a good person. He'll have to admit it at some point.

[Fine with him. He just shrugs a little, because... oh Roxas.]

Somehow I doubt he or Axel will accept that. Not for a long time.

... Axel might be more okay with it than you think. It's really just Roxas I'm worried about. He can be so stubborn.

[ leeeaning, comfortable boyfriendo is comfortable. ]

Hehe, I guess all of us can be.

It'll take some serious work before Roxas gets over it. Not saying he's a bad guy; we just don't see eye-to-eye.

[But hey, he laughs at that last remark.]
