It's kind of crazy seeing all the newbies popping in again. Happens every two months, but whenever a cycle starts, it's like the whole village picks up speed before settling back into its usual calm. Just another part of the routine, I guess.

But it's kind of jarring, too. When it comes to people from my universe, the numbers just keep dwindling. I've already tried getting in touch with Roxas, and, well... You know what happens when filters break.

[...Sigh. Maybe he's getting a bit rambly here.]

Anyway, ice cream. I've got a ton of it that's just taking up freezer space. For any newbies and anyone else who doesn't mind hanging around the fountain, I'm more than happy to toss you a stick. With all the departures, I could probably use more socializing, anyway.

Plus, the last time I got too reclusive, Kairi strapped me to a chair.

But after leaving his message, Riku can be found hanging around the fountain with a box of sea salt ice cream. Not his favorite flavor, but he had to try it at least once. He's also joined by his Komory Bat, who will greet newcomers with enthusastic squeaks and quite possibly hover circles around them. He's kind of enthusiastic.

It's kind of a funny contrast between him and Riku, now a young adult in much milder colored clothes. Even he's a bit baffled by how much he's changed in hindsight.]

It sounds like they care a lot for you. [ Since even with as ridiculous as those things sound, they must just have been that kind of people. ] In their.. [ how to put this diplomatically, she's been blunt for way too long.. ] .. own special way, that is.

Special is right, but I don't think that's a problem. Sometimes friends do weird stuff, but at least it keeps things interesting.

.. Of course. I mean, if everything they did just was annoying, then there'd be no way you would go along with it, let alone be friends with them, right? There's a difference between things friends do and things just plainly annoying people do.

True, but friends usually do get a bit more leeway. There's this grey area between friendly annoyance and a real one. One of those things you just have to feel out.

Plus, it's not like friendship's all rainbows and sunshine. Even the closest people have problems sometimes.

I almost feel like I'm getting lectured on friendship here..

.. But then again, I guess I really don't know much about it the way most people do, either way. I thought it was something that was different for everyone.

I'd think of it less as a lecture and more of a discussion. Sorry if it came across that way, though.

[Heh. Maybe Sora's rubbed off on him more than he thought.]

But you're right about it being different for everyone. Different people come with different expectations, and I know I treat some of my friends different than others. Think that might be universal on some level.

I guess I only really got to learn more about it in this place, but you're right about treating them differently. I seriously wouldn't make certain jokes I make to some people to certain others.

Well, some people are more sensitive than others, so I get that. Others leave themselves more open to an onslaught of teasing.

Like Sora. He practically begs for it half the time.

Why? Is it because he's so naive? Or are his reactions to it funny?

[ That's usually what prompts her to tease people, really. Like Atsuro back when he was still around.. ]

I'd almost call that an understatement. Then again, I'm kind of biased.

Yeah, he's around. With huge, dorky shoes and gravity defying hair, he's kind of hard to miss.
