[There's a brief pause before Riku speaks into the journal. He's been a bit restless as of late, and with the Replica around and his short encounter with Aku, well...]

Anyone up for a round? Haven't had much practice lately, so I could use a sparring partner. I use a sword, but I won't be too picky about weapons.

[ just sighs, leaning her head against him for a moment more before finally pulling out of the hug with some reluctance, smiling faintly ]

We can keep going, if you want. I'm alright.

Well, what do you want?

[He shrugs.]

I guess that depends on how badly you wanted to spar.

Well, I mostly wanted a distraction. Part of it was for training, though. After that beating I took from my replica, I might as well start somewhere.

... that's right. [ frowns a little in concern. ] I hope you two don't fight again. But if you really do want to train, I really don't mind helping. [ battle stance! smiles a little, too. ]

Wasn't planning on it, Xion.

[Oh? Well, he'll get back into a battle stance as well!]

Good! I think I might have to yell at you if you did. Both of you.

[ her Keyblade appears in her hands once more ... but instead of charging, she sticks her tongue out at him again, mimicking his sword-waving taunt from earlier. ]

I think I get enough of that from Kairi.

[Psh. Fine then. He'll chaaarge!]

Then stay out of trouble and you won't get any more!

[ ... that was such a Kairi comment to make. GOOD THING FIGHTING STARTS NOW OR THAT WOULD GET CREEPY. She'll go ahead and block, but stays on the defensive for now, seemingly waiting for something. ]

[See, the thing is, riiight as Riku gets close... he slides to the side, attempting to nail her as he moves away. Heheh.]

[ YOU CREEP. is nailed, because she was not expecting that, and dude, I am gonna GET YOU. abandons her plan of watching him for openings and goes right on the offensive, getting in close for a couple of strikes. ]

[Block, block-- trying to break that combo again! Silly Xion, he was just messing with ya.]

[ combo break! but she springs back before he can counter. if it helps at all, she's smiling, pretty obviously enjoying herself. ]

[Heh. Well, he's smirking too.

Anyway, he'll jump back as well, doing that taunting~]

[ l-laughs, unable to help herself, because it looks silly and it's so Riku, somehow. takes up the challenge and rushes at him, but forgoes the combo this time -- instead she goes for a feint followed up by a quick, low slash, hoping to catch him off guard. ]

[And it does! Well played, Xion.]

[ why thank you.

insert timeskip, perhaps~? since one can assume they'll be at this for a while. eventually Xion will back off, winded and flushed. neither of them can seem to get the upper hand on the other, but she's getting tired by now. ]

[She's not the only one. Eventually Riku just steps back and... plops on the ground, panting.]

Let's just call this a draw.

[ laughs breathlessly and follows suit, Keyblade vanishing from her hands. disheveled and sweaty and tired derps ftw? ]

Agreed. That was fun, though!

Yeah? Well, I'm up to this any time. Could use more training, anyway.

[And now he will tuck that sword away.]

If I ever want to spar, I know who to ask, I guess. [ laughs a little and gets up, moving to at least sit beside him before flopping over onto her back on the ground and shutting her eyes momentarily. ]

I wouldn't recommend telling Roxas, though. Chances are he'd have a fit.

[Xion, you dork. Riku's content just sitting for now, though he does give her an amused smirk.]

[ that makes her open her eyes again, glancing up at him with a small frown before she sighs. ] Probably. One day he'll learn.

[ interlaces her fingers over her tummy, looking up at him quietly for a moment. suddenly she smiles, just a little. ] By the way ... thanks, Riku.

I hope so. He can go on about me being a stubborn prick all he likes, but I've learned to just ignore it.

[Hm? Well, that gets a shrug out of it.]

Why are you thanking me?

[ is just silent for a moment before sitting up, wrapping her arms and looking at him. she just smiles a little wider, in a sweet but knowing sort of way. ]
