[There's a brief pause before Riku speaks into the journal. He's been a bit restless as of late, and with the Replica around and his short encounter with Aku, well...]

Anyone up for a round? Haven't had much practice lately, so I could use a sparring partner. I use a sword, but I won't be too picky about weapons.

I know... but I could have ruined everything. I still might.

[ Her thoughts are elsewhere -- like on the Keyblade she's holding -- and her reaction is a split second too late. owwwwwwwww. makes a noise of frustration and retaliates, moving quickly to counter combo. ]

[BLOCK.]

Xion, stop thinking like that!

But what if it's true?! Sora could fall asleep again, and I'd have to... I'd have to...!

[ lashes out without thinking, pushing back against his block HARD and striking much quicker than before. ]

[Before he can say anything, he takes the hit full on, flying back and hitting the ground with a thud. He winces, slowly getting back up, though this time he doesn't make a move to attack.]

Whatever happens, we'll figure something out. For now, just... don't worry. Sora's fine, you're fine...so relax.

[ just stands there, Keyblade gripped in a shaking hand, not looking at him. She's trying very, very hard to school her expression, but not before the anger and fear are obvious. finally she reigns it all in, shutting her eyes and sighing. the shaking stops. ]

[Sigh. He's getting up to give her...another awkward Riku!hug. :/]

she makes a quiet noise of surprise, dropping the Keyblade, which vanishes a moment later. for a moment she's stiff in his grip, because What Are Hugs, but soon enough she relaxes, just leaning against him and loosely wrapping one arm around his waist in return. ]

[Good. He'll stay here as long as she needs. He figures it'll help, after the last time he did this for her...although he kinda towers over her now.]

[ Well, they were sitting down the first time this happened, so it was slightly more equal. But hey, now she can rest her head against his chest and such. Which she goes ahead and does, sighing, curling her fingers against his back. ]

[He sighs as well, just staying put. At least she's not crying this time...]

No, I mean... you wanted to spar, and this happens.

[ pulls back just enough to look up at him - but not enough to leave the hug - smiling weakly and giving just as weak a laugh ]

Hey, we did spar. It's fine.

[Someone needs a bit more confidence, mhm.]

[ just sighs, leaning her head against him for a moment more before finally pulling out of the hug with some reluctance, smiling faintly ]

We can keep going, if you want. I'm alright.

Well, what do you want?

[He shrugs.]

I guess that depends on how badly you wanted to spar.

Well, I mostly wanted a distraction. Part of it was for training, though. After that beating I took from my replica, I might as well start somewhere.

... that's right. [ frowns a little in concern. ] I hope you two don't fight again. But if you really do want to train, I really don't mind helping. [ battle stance! smiles a little, too. ]

Wasn't planning on it, Xion.

[Oh? Well, he'll get back into a battle stance as well!]

Good! I think I might have to yell at you if you did. Both of you.

[ her Keyblade appears in her hands once more ... but instead of charging, she sticks her tongue out at him again, mimicking his sword-waving taunt from earlier. ]

I think I get enough of that from Kairi.

[Psh. Fine then. He'll chaaarge!]

Then stay out of trouble and you won't get any more!

[ ... that was such a Kairi comment to make. GOOD THING FIGHTING STARTS NOW OR THAT WOULD GET CREEPY. She'll go ahead and block, but stays on the defensive for now, seemingly waiting for something. ]

[See, the thing is, riiight as Riku gets close... he slides to the side, attempting to nail her as he moves away. Heheh.]

[ YOU CREEP. is nailed, because she was not expecting that, and dude, I am gonna GET YOU. abandons her plan of watching him for openings and goes right on the offensive, getting in close for a couple of strikes. ]

[Block, block-- trying to break that combo again! Silly Xion, he was just messing with ya.]

[ combo break! but she springs back before he can counter. if it helps at all, she's smiling, pretty obviously enjoying herself. ]
